Was in at Downtown Porsche today and came across this 21 Spyder w/ 2500 km nicely optioned. The irony- the MSRP was $141k and selling for $169k (CPO till 26')
Beautiful color etc BUT $169k for a 21 yet again we are told the ole song and dance - its unique / special / limited ed ...blah blah blah....
As for getting a new one or a 911 GTS / GT3 etc ... 2 + years out and "if you qualify". Clearly they took a page out of the Rolex handbook. "If you spend enough
we may let you have one". 25 yrs in Cap Mkts - a good ole recession serves many purposes one of which is to cleanse the system of excess ... clearly supply/demand
out of whack.
There are deals starting to be had, you just have to find them. I hate talking to salespeople when they start with that crap though lol
By 'deals' meaning prices slowly trending towards where they should be, although likely just the beginning and potentially some real deals come next spring. Just my $0.02 of course but I think buyers can save themselves some good $ by showing some restraint - easier said than done.
Was talking to the manager at Porsche Oakville a few weeks back. He basically said people ordered the GT cars at MSRP and then sold them back to the dealership at $100k+ higher, and now the dealership has them listed for another $20-50k on top of that. They've got a half dozen of them sitting in the showroom right now.

There are 30 (!!!) 992 GT3s currently for sale at Porsche dealerships in Canada, and the least expensive appears to be about $120k over MSRP. Have heard that Pfaff (among others) does a handshake deal with clients that get an allocation to flip them back soon after delivery. Complete load of BS considering people want one to actually drive/enjoy but I guess money talks.

i have absolutely no doubt this has been going on for years to get around Canadian MSRP legislation.
