Ya the 70 cent difference is a little nutty. Usually, it takes 2-3 days for diesel to adjust after the gas goes up or down. I am holding out at a 1/4 tank hopping for a drop soon.
Went to get some regular yesterday and it was at 128.5 here in T.O and Diesel was still at 201.5 .... Diesel hasn't really moved for weeks ... Anytime I find diesel below $2 I usually top my other car off.
I sold my mk7 GTI to move onto a BMW 328d touring just as the diesel prices started to really diverge from gas. Don't regret the decision as I love the car but not the savings I was expecting.
daughter's 2015 Golf TSI - 8.13L/100km over the past 8 weeks ~1985km - 75%+ urban driving in London
my/son's 2015 Golf TDI - 5.71L/100km over the past 6 weeks ~3150km ~50% urban driving.
not saving any money by driving diesel at these prices...
I'm driviing a 2006 base Honda Civic Dx this winter.... ~7.3L/100km ~40% urban driving
And I'm sure that most of us on the forum can recall a time when diesel was cheaper than gas.
We've only had diesel daily's since about 2013.... For the longest time diesel was a few cents cheaper in the summer and a few cents more expensive in the winter compared to regular unleaded.
