Just filled up at the Shell at Appleby and Mainway. Still says no ethanol in v power.
Kinda sucks if they eventually transition as I use v power exclusively for this reason.

My guess is they have already made the transition. I can't see some stations still not having ethanol and others having it. I wouldn't trust those stickers.

I was at Costco today filling up my car with premium before putting it away. The non ethanol signs are gone just a 10% ethanol sticker by the regular pump. I'm assuming now the premium gas has ethanol.

Anyone have a graduated cylinder? Its an easy test: just add 100 ml of gas to 20ml of water; shake; if more than 20 ml precipitates out, you have ethanol. Example 25 precipitates out you have 5% ethanol

A new shell is going up at Appleby and Dundas right close to my house. My excitement has been squashed.

Ethanol percentage can I guess vary by grade. Will be interesting to see what is done in practice.
Not going to help the cars, but what options will there be for carbureted home tools?
Cheers

Will see if the Stihl dealer has any info....
I store my home made premix batches in aluminum fuel containers (Think MSR stove tanks) Apparenty ethanol not good for aluminum.... That might be a concern
If you're worried about it for lawn equipment, you could decant it after doing the graduated cylinder/water experiment.

it's honestly a non-issue for our cars unless sitting for many years unused, if you're worried about extended storage/lack of use then use an ethanol stabilizer

My Stihl stuff takes premium, i think because it's ethanol free... I'm not too worried... I think the vast majority of 'Merica has been ethanol blend for a while...

Stuff always starts and lasts for many years. I had to retire my weed wacker after 16 years and much use. Not the carb, it was worn. V. Low on compression.
