Default Canada to USA import broker

Do you guys have any recommendations?

Trying to import a car from CANADA to US. Need a broker who will streamline the whole process along with enclosed trailer.

TFX International. I used them in November to export my Canadian car to a US buyer. They handled everything door to door and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Very reasonable brokerage charges, too.

TFX is taking my Camaro to Texas in the next few weeks. They also brought my 993 up from Texas last July. Recommended.

I called them for a quote for shipping and brokerage on my Camaro. Said they would get back to me within the hour (it was 10 am). At 5 pm I gave the job to TFX since I had their complete quote for hours and hadn’t heard back from carhaulers. At 5:30 pm they sent a quote for shipping, but not brokerage. Shipping was exactly the same price as TFX…no idea what they would charge for brokerage.

I find them more reliable and more responsible. Don't get me wrong the other carriers are pretty good but seem to often have delays and some minor issues.

Reviving this thread. Anyone had to pay a gas guzzler tax?

If you only need the brokerage aspect (no shipping), I know one who processed my Turbo back in April. They were excellent.

I drove the car across the border to a designated spot the Florida buyer chose, dropped it off and he took it from there.

Anyone have any insight to bringing a US spec car back into the US from Canada? It was originally sold in the US then imported to Canada several years ago and now I'd like to bring it back.

2.85% duty and $395 brokerage fee plus shipping…

if it’s been in Canada less than 3 years, you may be able to avoid duty.

I wouldn't be shipping. I'd get the paperwork to register it and drive it back. Bonus it's originally a US car.

If you drive it and do the paperwork at the border yourself, no brokerage fees and 2.4% duty.

you just drive up to the border and declare that you purchased the car. The will send you inside the customs office to do the paperwork.
