Re-importing a previously US titled car is duty free if you can prove it was previously in the US. (prior US title/registration)

That has changed. The car can only be re-imported duty free if it has been in Canada for less than 3 years. I just went through this with a vehicle that I sold 2 weeks ago.

TFX uses different brokers depending on where they are crossing into the US. They use US brokers for this and the cost is different depending on which broker they use.

I used them 3 times in the last 12 months. The Canadian broker was $295 cdn and the US brokers were $395 US.

who were the US brokers, Mark? last year TFX said I needed to find one on my own.
rules changed about a year ago going to US.. ie: if dealer is importing it needs to go in holding for 30 days.

I can't recall the names Danny, but I sent my 67 Camaro to Texas in March or April last year, got a quote for my 993 to NH last month with brokerage and shipped one of my Harleys to PA 2 weeks ago. Also brought my Fat Boy up from Texas this past April. All with TFX and all with their brokers. I deal with Adam direct. I am not a dealer, so maybe that is the difference? All of my vehicles shipped direct with no holds.

The only company that I know locally that won't do US brokerage is Mackie. I called them last year about a move and they told me that.
