Hi all, my 957 TTS has a fair number of stone chips on the hood and front bumper (ex-AB car). Looking for recommendations for any shops in the GTA (or preferably out towards the Niagara region) that do this work. Much appreciated
stone chips will be visible on the wrap. you need to touch these up and level the paint before wrapping. What colour is the vehicle and are you planning to wrap just hood and bumper cover? same colour?
Turbodan is correct - in fact you may wish to do a cut and polish before even considering a wrap because you will simply wrap an already "stone chipped" hood by doing so ... you can't wrap before addressing the hood and then and only then can you consider wrapping it - if you care ...
I had the exact same issue as my car came from Calgary and was lucky I didn't have too many deep chips and managed to eliminate most / mitigate and then wrapped it ...
Thanks, all - the car has been cut/polished and looks pretty good overall - the chips on the front bumper are numerous but small. I didn't realize the paint under a wrap has to be perfect (or chip free) - I'd sort of assumed the material was thick enough that very small chips wouldn't cause an issue - note I'm contemplating a full colour change for the whole vehicle, not clear PPF, which I agree would be pointless on a chipped panel. The car is Basalt Black, which is fine but I don't love it - I'd much prefer a dark blue or green.

Thanks, I've done a little more research into this and will paint, not wrap, or at least not yet. Seems like that's the right way to do it. Colour is Basalt Black and I'd wrap the whole car, likely a dark green or blue.
make sure you wait a while for the paint to cure/harden before wrapping. With the new water based paints they take longer to cure than in the past. I would probably wait 6 weeks.

Thanks - given the cost of painting properly and the cost of wrapping properly, I'd be at least 6 months, maybe longer so no issue there
Turbodan's recommendations are very good- payment has to be sorted and settled before any of this stiff.. I am a big fan of both PPF and ceramic and have it on most of my cars.
I did bring a brand new V10 M6 from the factory to the Nürburgring in 2006( no PPF or ceramic) and it looked like this and underneath the flies was a lot of paint damage - car was 6 days after delivery).......
Since then I have brought every car for wrap/ceramic right away and it has paid off. Track days/offroading and the like all have an impact on a specific vehicle. I often drive on gritty roads or sometimes gritty tracks.
I use the Refinery here who are superb. This is a current car which is a PPF nightmare but they did an amazing job. If I do factory delivery I get it done 9km from the delivery centre in Zuffenhausen. . Wish I had done this with the M6.
Menace rides in Hamilton. Ive seen lots of there cars, years after wrap, and ahve always been impressed. My friends car is going on year 3 or 4, and looks the same still.
