Default 992 GT3 Allocation

Anyone have a guaranteed allocation they don’t want? I mean the 992 GT3 looks ugly and all. 😀

Feb 16 unveiling.

Same launch date as the new McLaren Artura (570 successor and hybrid v-6). Consolation prize for those who can't get a GT3!

I think dealer owners are the only ones with guaranteed cars. I doubt Porsche has released allocations yet.

They are not really limiting the GT cars so much these days...just look at the rising production numbers from the 996 onwards. There will be the usual rush to be first if that matters, then the temporary rise in values, the flippers,. then a return to normality. If you order early and put down a deposit and are not in a hurry I would think you'll get one. I will wait for the RS but I have always gotten one from the dealer with an advance deposit, and this will be my fourth.

They sell more 911 GT models then anything else, so at that point isn't it just the illusion of limited availability to drive demand? Obviously effective given the retained value on the secondary market but has there ever been anything from Porsche indicated the recent GT3 would have limited production?

GT3/RS models are the least produced and aren’t released annually..........just curious where did you get that data from? GT3 models are developed off the base 911, and was never a high volume car. 2011 - 2015 was a 5 year gap in production. GT2 RS was 2011 and than again 2018 bigger gap.

Should have clarified, my comments were directed at GT cars in the last few years.

got it, think the 2018 model year is biased because the base 991.2 were end of production. The 99.2 GT3 was new to production followed by the 2019 RS/Speedster. You need to count from 2012-2019 get get the fully allocated counts.

The hilarous with McLaren is that youll be able to walk in and buy one out of dealer stock.

True, but it’s a entry level car vs a LT model which is similar to a GT brand. However, they do make it easier if they have slots available.

Even more hilarious is they depreciate faster than a BMW 7-series the moment you walk out of the dealer lot...

It’s so frustrating to purchase a GT3. I mean, I have been looking for 4-5 months now and the prices are ridiculous in my opinion with a 991.2 going for at or over original msrp.

Hoping to get an allocation and purchase a new car for the same price. Perhaps wishful thinking.

Depreciate the same amount as a 7 Series costs LOL!

If you don't have a relationship with a Porsche dealer and history purchasing Porsche vehicles I'd expect it will remain difficult to get an allocation. The other part that you haven't mentioned is what the 992 GT3 pricing will look like... I'd expect a steep increase to allow Porsche to continue to profit off the strong resale (and ADM in the US) market. Might make a used 991.2 look like a bargain unfortunately... either way don't expect pricing to go anywhere but upwards.

McLaren builds more cars than they can sell and in general they have a hard time selling them. Unlike Ferrari that keeps supply low and demand high. McLaren is still bleeding cash

It's really really sad/ hilarous. My friend bought a 720S new and dumped it last year for a massive loss. In 18 months of ownership he lost a GT3 in value.. the asking prices online as just those.. asking

Now all the older models have gearbox issues.
