Default Shipping car via enclosed trailer

Hi Guys, I’m shipping my car back from van to Calgary. Has anyone had experience with blue line distributors? Tfx and thorsons can’t promise they’ll ship in time. Thanks.

no one can promise. if they promise they often claim "truck broke down, nothing we could do" they all lie. Only way to know is if they offer gps tracking which most won't. You could use a private transport with one car trailer.

I've heard good things about TFX. Thorsons is known too. I almost used TFX but the car didn't work out.

I recently used SRT Carriers, he's great, two car trailer. Check out his Instagram.

Thanks, would you just put your name down with TFX and pray? I just will be physically out of town after Jan 16, and if they don't come, it doesn't get shipped.

Maybe you can contact the local Porsche dealer and ask who they use or recommend.

Tfx or Thorsons are great. For $1500 from Vancouver to Calgary they better be! That's what I payed last time, but I am sure the dealer who arranged the shipping took a cut. I have gotten enclosed quotes from T.O to Alberta for that! Try uship.com shippers will bid on your shipment, and they are all rated. This time of year nothing is guaranteed. Hell Alberta pretty much shuts done in December due to all the people that go back to where ever they are from for Christmas.

Hmm, or OP can hide some sort of GPS tracker in his car?

I have good experience with TFX from a few years back. They were the only ones I could find shipping in enclosed containers at the time. They ship exotics, antiques and being an official transport company for Bentley Canada, gave me reassurance that they'd handle my car with care. They were twice as expensive as an average shipping company over rail, but I didn't want to take any chances.

I picked up my car from their depot for a small discount, and as I was there they were unloading a Ferrari California and several brand new Bentleys. Everything went well with my car too. They picked up/delivered on time, no problem.

If you can't be there for the pickup, if I were you, I'd ask a friend, or a relative or just leave your car to your mechanic to sign off on your behalf when they pick it up.

I work in Auto Transport, Thorsons and TFX both have good reputations but are based in Ontario, to avoid Turbodans "they all lie" they are being up front without a firm date.
Try finding a carrier that Vancouver to Calgary is a regular run and not back haul for and use them?
But I would recommend booking with Thorsons or TFX and being patient.

Blue Line delivered my car today, 2-3 days ahead of schedule. I should be happy, but I'm actually pretty bummed. They didn't care to call me to tell me the car was arriving (which they were supposed to)--they just delivered it to the shop doing the OOP for me and it was the shop that called me to tell me the car was delivered earlier today.

I bought my last GT3 out of province, and half the fun was the anticipation leading up to delivery day, waiting for the call from Turbo J to let me know he was an hour away, etc. It's a missed experience I'll never get back with this car. So yeah, pretty bummed. At least the car is here, but I definitely would not recommend any company that can't communicate something as rudimentary as when your $200k+ dream car is arriving.
