How is Porsche not responsible for a car on warranty?
Car was a 991.1 C2S
Had an engine fault warning on the dash up. It did say safe to drive. I saw steam out the rear view and declined by shutting the car off.
The car was ablaze within minutes.

Why do you ask whether they are responsible? Was that car still under warranty?

My question is: where does the Porsche liability end and my insurer’s begin.

oil leak?
I would think it is in the best interest of Porsche to replace the car and not have these videos go viral.
glad to see you were not injured.
not sure why warranty would not cover it.
how many kms? and what and when was the last service? perhaps they didn't close off something. I would guess the computer would show what faults were going off.

As stated the display showed DRIVING POSSIBLE.
Maybe I should have just ‘gunned it’

Why all the fire damage in the front. Can't see your videos.
Why do you think this is a warranty claim? Might be. But want to hear your reasoning.

The dealer will try to avoid whatever cost possible. Especially a large one that could be covered by insurance. you can blow your brains out trying to get them to pay, or you could claim insurance and have their legal team try to recoup. I’d hope your insurance wouldn’t go up because your car randomly caught fire...

Thanks Brahm, Jenn and I got out Ok but all I could get was her purse. Her shereling coat and everything else went up with the car. It happened that fast.
My question to all is if there was something faulty that lead to a catastrfofic loss;
Why isn’t the root cause warranter part of the liability?
