First time visitor to Montreal, visitor tips?

Aaaah don't do Shwartz's, The Main is across the street, superior, and no lines because it's not an overhyped institution. If you're in that area, +1 for Romado's chicken though, on Rachel.

Food, eh?
I really enjoyed Joe Beef (meaty excess)and Vin Papillon (wine and crazy delicious vegetables), Liverpool house completes the McMillan trio, but I don't recall going.
400 Coups, Club Chasse et Peche or Toqué are the main high end places in the cities.
Make sure to try out some Montreal bagels, either St Viateur or Fairmount, ideally fresh out of the oven early in the morning and hungover.
Pizzeria Napoletana in little Italy is pretty good, claims to be the first pizzeria in the city.
Very curious about Maison Publique but I haven't been (Canadian Terroir).
Agrikol is from the same guys as the Black Hoof in Toronto. I went to the latter and it blew me away, I don't see how they'd **** the bed.
Au PIed de Cochon is good if you like the stupid excess that was all the rage a couple years ago. Not so much my style, but still worth a shot.
Park, allegedly the city's best sushi. Although Tri-Express on Laurier is a less advertised equally delicious alternative.
And Candide, my personal favorite.
