Overdraft

Bend Pak would be my choice..have had four of them. ALI approved (American Lift Institute) was a primary consideration for me. Used to be made in US ..now simply assembled in US I do believe. I can see the difference in quality from lift 1 to 4...but I am ordering two more in the next 60 days for my new garage. Good product...and variety of sizes for all garages.

Direct and Bendpack are both made in China. I had a Direct for 5 years and would buy another. I recently asked a respected local lift installer what he would buy and he said bendpack.

I'm looking for a 4 post lift too. I like the idea of having everything inside the columns. It looks like the Bendpak are the only ones that currently have this. Can anyone confirm this? I looked at Atlas, Direct, Rotary Revolution, Bendpak and Wildfire Lifts.

What are people paying for these too? I'm seeing lots around $2300 and the Wildfire lift is $3200 (appears to be made in the USA).

Both Bendpak and Rotary have cables inside posts. Like anything you get what you pay for. Both not the cheapest.

The 7ft Atlas units have everything in the columns too.

I hear lots of recommendations, but does anyone have any specific negative experience with of the manufacturers? There seem to be many of these in the $2500 to $3200 range and a couple in the $2000 to $2200 range. The Direct lift units are recommended several times here and their small one is the cheapest ($2200) but it's really rather narrow (Drive through Width = 80.5"). If I look at their larger one, the cost jumps to $2900.

Any opinions on any of this?

If you are only planning to go up and down, let's say once or twice a week then, does it really matter as long as it keeps the car up?

My plan is to go up or down maybe once a monthly. Very little use actually.

Here is my current research on these:

Atlas Apex 8 – On sale for $2595 – Includes ramps and casters and shipping. Must add Drip pans ($80) and Jack Tray ($75) – Total Cost = $2745

Bendpak HD-7W - $3195 includes casters, ramps, drip pans and jack tray and shipping.

Direct Lift Pro Park 8S - $2,195 plus shipping ($250). Casters, ramps, drip pans and casters included. Total cost = $2,345

Titan SDPL-7000 - $1,995 Plus 7% Tax – Delivered to my door for $80. Setup for $475. Total Cost = $2,134 + $80 (shipping) = $2,214

Any reasons why I should not go with the Titan Lift?

I would buy one that has a local sales/service team and is ALI certified. Don't get hung up on where the cables are. My direct lift has seen more action then most and is still going strong.

I did inform our home insurance company that I had an ALI certified lift in my garage. No rate change, no issues.

So maybe a silly question but how much ceiling height do you need? If I say want my 977 on top and a BMW 3 series below??

I have 10 ft ceilings - maybe a bit tight??

I have a 10' ceiling and my 9-5 Aero wagon with roof rails fits above or below the 928 just fine.

The Bendpak dealer here in Vancouver is Babco Equipment, and their price for a HD-7W is $4,325.
