Default Japanese Import into taiwan

Thinking about importing a 993 into Taiwan from Japan.

Any advise on grey import (non Taiwan registered car) and for those who have done it, appreciate the comments / advise.

Still looking for a 993, am getting a little desperate. thanks in advance

unless its left hand drive you won't be able to import to taiwan and Japan is predominately right hand drive. its fashionable to have a left HD in Japan though so they do come up occasionally but at a premium.

Cheers

Happy to help you find a car, I have helped a few people already and can organise shipping, the importing procedure and tax issues are down to you to figure out.

I know of a guy here who's looking to sell his Polar Silver 993, tiptronic, LHD about 50,000km's - if you're interested send me a PM, he's leaving the country end of August and he'd take Y3MM to get it off his hands

guess you have never been to japan....virtually every porsche in japan is LHD, if it was a right winger it would sell at a substantial discount......
here's plus 1100 listings for used porsche in japan....knock yourself out looking for RHD...ie they do NOT come up occasionally they are just NOT there basically without exception.

i am not sure re import regs/taxes on importing car into taiwan, but:

-japanese cars tend to be premium condition/low mileage with exceptional maintenance in large part because of gov't enforced inspection/maintenance requirements (shak-ken system)
-virtually all are LHD which fits your market
-shipping costs would be minimal

......here's pages of 993 listings (about 200 vehicles) from largest online used car source....scroll down/click on any of interest for details.

good luck

Been to Japan many many times but not in "car mode" so I never really noticed that but it makes sense for sure.

My bad
