Not that it matters but I think Nigel may have a bit more in the tank, just checked the AIM data on my laptop, my first outing in the 996 GT3 was a 1:42.9, pretty sure my AIM has mid 42s from the second outing I didn't bother uploading. 991 GT3 would be sub 40?

So my 1:41.6 in a FWD NA 2L factory standard engine Honda isn't too bad...
Although a Civic in the same session with same engine did a 1:37....brilliantly set up and driven.
On slicks of course.
Sorry, couldn't resist....

That's very quick, I think the break out time for GTRNZ GT3 class was 1:35 last year...

Ive always been impressed with the time those Honda race cars can post!

Our RSG record at Taupo is 1.37.83 (991 GT3) and 1.40.15 (GT4). Both cars stock (tyres as factory Cup2 a road/track tyre) and weigh 1380-1450kg. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=motecca

Pel, I think your 996 GT3 was exceptionally well set up for track work. You were definitely the quickest 996 GT3 on all tracks. Nigel probably has more in the tank but his car is running fairly stock. I doubt he could get to your times. Last year at least he didnt better 1.43 (he doesnt officially time himself but he sends me his videos at the end of each day and works out his times from them).

I think on slicks you could subtract 2s+ a lap from a road legal R comp at Taupo regardless what you are driving. Maybe the MegRS can make a 1.42 on slicks?

Haha. At least they’re doing something new, the rest of us seem to have gone into automotive hibernation.

10 hour day today with some clever chaps changing my old CIS for a completely refurbished set up from a similar car. From the runner flanges up - everything changed out, Including a new MSD set up. My CIS was Ok but a few air leaks were creeping in (confirmed upon disassembly) and it was not going to be long before I would be chasing them no doubt by replacing a part at a time in a process of elimination. So it's all in and just needs a few adjustments here and there.

Good work Shannon. I haven’t heard the bombing run past the house yet, is it finished?
