Mylaps/AMB is a freaking rip off. I picked up a rechargeable transponder a few years ago (the black bottom non-subscription one) for like $300. Now they want subscriptions.
I think track organizers and clubs need to push back. There are real options out there. One group I run with has the Westhold system, timing decoder, and transponder. The transponders are $200 each and NO subscription. They use the same timing antenna loop as the MyLaps system. Different decoder/transponders.

PCA here uses MyLaps.
