Such a shame. Obviously there more going on behind the schemes with the teams and IMSA than any of us will ever know.

Don't know that it was related but I suspect that this was at least part of the reason Magnus switched to Audi before the season began.

This BOP will be the death of some manufacturer's racing teams. It's a never ending task and becoming more convoluted every season.

I am sorry, but this and the WeatherTech withdrawal both have the optics of spoiled brats taking their ***** and running home.

At least Magnus acted with class, between seasons.

the Sweedler/Bell Lambo team disbanded a few races ago, but I don't think that was a BoP-influenced decision.

IMSA GTD is in trouble. part is BoP, part is the "fake silver" problem, and part is the amount of money IMSA expects manufacturers to bring to the table for what is, by definition, a customer car series. add in wildly increasing budgets for the few Ams willing to foot the bill, and....

Atherton is just a manager, the real problem starts with the Frances and their cabal IMO.

Disagree. Atherton in large part ruined ALMS, and the France family was not involved.

the France family was very involved in ALMS, just not directly

racing series ruined by the Frances (directly or indirectly):

AMA Superbike
Indycar (think about that one for a minute )
ALMS
Grand Am

they know how to game the system and play rope-a-dope. unfortunately when they "win", they still lose because the only business model they understand is the one that they built for NASCAR, which doesn't apply anywhere else.

And has been itself losing luster for many years...

Does not appear be the successful model, anymore.

BoP, is it based on the results of the IMSA supplied data loggers, this then determines the size of the mandated restrictor plates, or does it regulate boost on turbo cars? Not clear on this....
