Rain At Mid Ohio
#19
This was the most entertaining nascar race.
Justin Marx deserved the win. He had mastery of entering the turns just slow enough and then applying the throttle smoothly. You could see the car get loose everytime he exited a turn and crossed the dry line. Great driving.
I saw him interviewed and he's an ex-imsa Porsche and BMW driver, with experience in the wet at Mid-O. He said he was thrilled when the rain started.
And I bet he's an ex-scca or club racer, because he waved at all the flaggers on his cool down lap. For some reason, I thought that was neat.
God, Mid-O is scary and awesome all at once in the rain.

Good guy.. met him when he just started racing at the west coast world challenge GT events. He was running the blue GT3 cup car , sponserd by Flextronix.
His budget allowed him to run the entire series and then get hooked up with Joey hand and auberlin for many of his big time races later on.
yes, we always wave at the flaggers! nascar guys usually come from differnent roots than us!
any seasoned club racer would have LOVED to see the rain hit. great to see a guy like him blow out the field and keep the car under him!
