From the title, I thought it'd be about something like this.

A friend of mine did the Big Bend Open Road Race (BBORR) at Ft. Stockton Texas last week.

This guy has a Buckley E car he can race, the Duramax military size Hummer that he does rock and hill climbs all over the US, has a vintage Jag and a Ferrari 360 which he did the race in.

He texted me when he got home to schedule the return of my tubing bender he'd borrowed and told me "this was the most fun I have had in a car EVER".

It peaked my interest so I read to learn about it and watched quite a few videos.

Holy liability Batman....!

I ended up meeting him today to grab the bender and I was curious about safety....cage/hans/tire requirements....some of these cars are doing 200mph on closed public roads.

He told me (at least in his class 110mph average) that one of the requirements is that your tires have to be no older than 4 years old.....!?!?!?!

Crazy.

Look up some video's of Targa Newfoundland...not quite as 'fast' since we're all very amateur, but people standing right at the road behind 'safety tape' at best... but that's in Canada, eh?...

That is one of my bucket list events! I've been following it for years. Just need more time and money!

Really cool video.

And lets remember - all lawsuits start with a scumbag client. The ambulance chaser lawyer comes after. No scumbag clients - no ridiculous lawsuits.

We do this in canada every year. On the island of Newfoundland.

All you need is a car with a cage and somebody willing to sit in your passenger seat for 6 days....
