I tow a 9000lb enclosed with a new Ford F-150 crew cab with max tow-max payload package (11,300 max) unbelievable vehicle and doubles as a daily . The 3.5 ecoboost is an amazing motor.

Audi Q7 TDI with air suspension - towing an enclosed Trailex without issues and great fuel mileage - it"s a great everyday family hauler too. Coming from a Cayenne GTS the Diesel is a much better tow vehicle.

2001 GMC Sierra 2500HD with Allison transmission and camper cab. I only use it to Tow. It's been pretty good truck. Picked it up used so it was pretty inexpensive.

I have had each of the Big Three diesels...various years, all 4x4...The Fords were a rolling disaster...Neither of them could be trusted...6.0 Navistar was a real turd as were the rest of the trucks components. Chevy was fine, Dodge was the best. Everyone has their favorite...I buy them to work them hard..Primarily towing gooseneck horse trailers...15,000 lbs. plus most of the time. For my race car trailer I currently have a newer Chevy Dmax...decent truck, rides nice but a few problems...leaky rear main and silver paint flaking off already...We'll see how it holds up !

2005 Dodge Ram 2500 quad cab short bed. Diesel 4x4. Laramie. 6 speed NV5600 manual which is rare. At the time, the dodge auto trans sucked. Ruled out Chevy because I am not getting an IFS on a 3/4 ton 4x4. Ruled out ford due to motor. At the time, Chevy had the best auto trans with the Allison, Dodge had the best motor with the Cummins and the beefiest axles. And ford had the nicest interior with King Ranch. Next truck will be 1 ton dually long bed. Extra bed for 90 gallon fuel tank for taking 93 octane to states that only have 91 plus I only need to bring one or two jugs. I'd take Ford or Dodge now.

No diesel here. Just towing a Trailex open trailer and a Corvette Z06. Pulling with a F150 Raptor. Does have the 6.2 gas motor in it but soft suspension. My total trailer weight is under 5000lbs with a rack of tires, jacks, and a few other necessities.

2008 Ford F350 2WD - Dually - tows my 32" gooseneck (steel) with ease. Can sit back, and cruise at 80 all day long. Crosswinds are a thing of the past.
Knock on wood - has been totally bulletproof. I think the only thing I've replaced in the last 5 years has been a thermostat and fan clutch. Only time I use it is when I go to the track, hence, why 2wd was the better choice for me. Less maintenance and wear and tear up front.
I still need to delete the DPF though.... Every time I see it "cleaning exhaust filter" it just means money down the tubes.

Bought an enclosed trailer last fall, needed a new tow vehicle, just bought a 2016 F250 short box diesel, have pulled a few times, amazing power, mileage seems okay will see on a long haul. Best option I ordered was the power towing mirrors, nice to be able to fold them out of the way in tight spots, garages etc.
