"E" and "D" class?

Well I'm only 5-6 so I better hold what I've got
I had to use two cushions and take the wipers off for our test run at Sebring a couple weeks ago. Damn seat feels like it's square on the floor. I was literally eye level with the top of the dash. The shop is fabricating something to work with the cup sliders to raise the seat some.

To wrap this thread up...

A well adjusted stock 915 shift linkage is as fast as any other... its the synchs, not the linkage. With practice you can shift it like lightning (BTW, gear-boxes are a maintenance item)
There is something called "trailing throttle oversteer". This is your best friend and your worst enemy.
All cars experience this to some extent, but in older 911, it is multiplied x4.
To drive these cars well, you must learn to manage this... these cars steer with the throttle... the steering wheel is like a Simple Country Lawyer... it's there to get you out of trouble.
1. Brake a bit early.
2. Aim the outside front tire at the inside of the turn with a slightly late apex
3. Flat-foot the throttle.
4. Steer like you owe somebody money, but Don't Ever Lift.
It's fun.

I'm trying to get a handle on shift points. My last couple cars revved to the moon. The E car, not so much.
With a legal redline of 6800, where should you be in 5th going around sebring? Back straight obviously. Where else?

Depending on your tire setup (ie if you are running 275\35\15's on the back), the end of the front straight and going under the bridge into turn 7.

I'm running 15's. Thanks for the info. I'm finding that I have to hit 5th going into the tower turn too. It's only for a second though. Seems like a waste of a shift up and down. Had contemplated just holding it at 6800 till the brake point versus the 2 shifts.

This thread is why E class is so good to be in. A lot of cars, a lot of trash talk, spirited discussion about which model to have, talk of cheating, it makes racing even more fun. We have the same in GTB1 except the cheating is probably a bit more expen$ive ....
I still miss my E car.
