Cool Stuff! I was down there as well working on the 50+ racing Daytona Prototype for the first few days.

I saw those cars running alittle bit would have went and introduced myself had I known a fellow lister was driving.

Any insights to the rear wing air inlet on the #22, appears to be closed of in the picture? Compare to the #23 wing is open (black hole). Is it just the angle of the photo on #22 compare to #23, thus blocked in the picture by the C-piller / blue passenger side mirror?
Your right.. one car has it open and the other car has it closed..

They were restored to as they raced in 1999 Daytona and Sebring.. So that is how they were.. I asked why the difference but that was 15 years ago and there wasn't much of an answer.. 2 different engineers on each car i believe.. They were a little different from each other all around..

Thanks for sharing. Love the sound of the air cooled flat 6. Love the look of the 993-based car. I competed in a go-kart endurance race in 1999 (iirc) and AJR had all of their employees competing in multiple karts as a team building event. Randy Pobst had been driving the #23 car for AJR until this point but he had been testing the 996-based car (at Daytona, I think) and I remember him extolling the aerodynamic virtues of the new car and saying how much more top end it had just due to aero. While the 996 platform may be slicker, I have to say that I am still partial to that 993 version.
