Yep.

And honestly, few people use data compared to the number that are out there...

It's the off-season, maybe that's it! People can dig into all the data they collected this year...

But Doug, there is one more pedal further to the right. It is small but works well, try it

that's why you get paid the big bucks

It's pretty amazing all of the info/help you guys give out for free on this site.

If I was smart enough to actually use the data from my traqmate, I would probably be bugging you too.

If time permits, you should pick up "Making sense of squiggly lines"

Touché,

I remember many of our data analysis workshops...
amazing...

Then of course don't forget our combined data and fitness classes, those really helped...

Best was the seminar by B Martini on how to win races.
Bullet points:
1. Don't hit stuff
2. You gonna pass them, or what?
3. Bam, back to power!

Merry Christmas!

Even fewer use data that have the data....it takes time and commitment to drive meaningful improvement.

Yes, but I believe people can learn how to leverage data the SAME way they learned how to drive.

Simple, small, targeted steps at first, over and over again. Then, when it becomes second nature to "see" what is glaring in a simple speed vs distance graph, then add another graph, like Long G (braking/acceleration) vs distance.

Traqmate (very simple) kept me busy for years (and still is a great "quick check") because I was cowed and intimidated by AiM, MoTeC and Pi. But now, it's just like the cars... More, bigger, better and faster analysis with more information.

I got sold on this data (and more importantly, "intelligent" video) thing when I ran out of subjective ways to urge my students (at that time) on to do what I think we all KNOW is important, namely "more power/less brakes." What does that mean (other than cinch your belts down and close your eyes<grin>)?

It would be simple if our minds weren't such powerful manipulators of past (and future) events. We remember things the way we would have liked them to be, not as they were...

Fun stuff. Looking forward to a great new year!

+1 ^^^

Just commenting on how most people who have data available from the car, dont in fact make the most of it!

Hoping 2015 is the year when the data and video recording firms finally catch up with the rapid advances made in the consumer space for integration, simplicity and reliability(!).

I have to say that reviewing your data can fall into the ole analysis paralysis but I can also truly say with a good coach and some data with video capture a review after every session can truly improve a driver quickly.
