Wow. Barely recognizable as a car. Hope he fully recovers soon.

Wow, if he is only lightly injured, he's a lucky man.

Probably stupid questions (for those who's familiar with the race):

- are the teams allow back up drivers for situation like this?

- do they have some sort of limit on how many chassis they can use during the test / practice / qualifying / race? I assume for a factory team, they'd have back up car? (seem that the car is too damaged to be easily rebuild?)

"In an official statement, Audi said Duval is currently at the Le Mans Centre Hosptitalier, and that his condition is “encouraging.” We're told Duval has a small leg injury.

Audi is currently in the process of building another machine from spares, and will not be penalized for entering that car in the No. 1 machine's place."

I wonder if Duval will pilot the backup car?

I can't believe a human being emerged in recognizable form much less alive and more or less ok. Someone was smiling down on him.

Duval not cleared to race. Marc Gene stepping in. Audi's using a spare chassis for the race.

What a testament to modern race car engineering that somebody could walk away from a crash like that.
