Default O.Z. Alleggerita HLT Suitable for Racing??

Looking at picking up a set of cheap rims for the Boxster S. These are really lightweight rims, but are they okay for racing? Using Tire Rack recommendations for offsets. Hopefully they fit good as well.

I have no personal experience but I have seen a lot of people use them on the track and never heard anything bad. They are extremely lightweight. I might go that way for a set of rains.

Thanks Frank. I've seen them for sale a lot on RL as well. Any durability differences between the Ultras and the Alleggeritas that you know of?

Interested in the same info... will be building my 986S into a full racer soon and my stock 18's are not straight. I have looked at these before and the OZ's are a fraction of a nice wheel like Fikse or Forgeline. Looks like I could run either 8's or 8.5's and 10's.

Have used them for a year of TT then a year of racing with no issues (and a couple years of DE prior to that)

Default + on Allegrittas

Been on the track with 2 sets for about 2 years. No problems, lightweight wheels. Love the Tire Rack price too.

Been thinking Alleggeritas as well. But then I realised OZ have a Challenge HLT as well.. It looks better to my eyes but I haven't seen any weight information. It's supposed to a race wheel from what I understand so should be stronger but heavier than Alleggerita? Anyone here with those?

Excellent! Thanks. I was worried that economical + light might = crap. Sounds like these are great!

I have these on a BMW 335. Maybe it's because it is a heavier car, but I've had problems with cracking. I had two wheels crack from the set that was on the car when I bought the car. I replaced them with a new set figuring that it was track use that caused the problem and the car would not see much track use afterward and I would try to stay off curbs when I did. On the second set I had one crack in cold weather just after the warranty expired.

I used with no issue racing a 996... if your planning to race SPB they will not be legal wheels
