Gainsco pulled out, too, although I thought that was more of a Memo Gidley issue than upset with TUDOR.
In any case, I only hope they manage this properly, as I'd much prefer to see professional sports car racing prosper.

Gainsco was planning on the four North American Endurance Cup rounds only as far back as November of last year, IIRC. Memo's accident put paid to that, though. Thankfully, he will be ok.

An only chassis issue too, as I understand. They were running the limited endurance series and instead of buying a replacement chassis before Sebring, they're sitting out to see what the dominant car will be by the end of the season.

Same source speculated that Level 5's withdrawal may have as much to do with Tucker's business affairs as anything else. I heard Tucker's brother passed recently, which would also be legitimate reason, if he's devoting more time to family.

All races broadcast live or watch a 720p version later at your leisure. Close wheel to wheel racing, lots of overtaking. You already know at least a 1/4 of the field by name. The sound is glorious and not changing any time soon. And Verena is not too shabby to look at either.
You're welcome!

A fairly reliable source told me that Paul Dalla Lana is taking his budget to World Challenge.

TUDOR is like the WWF of car racing. Where else can you have an authority seriously screw-up not once, but twice in the same event? It's like tag team wrestling when the ref is arguing with one guy while his teammate is being pounded on by both opponents... except, it happens twice in the same match. You just can't script this stuff better...
Then, you have "pro" drivers doing a hail-mary entry into a pack full of cars... duh...
All you need is for Dempsey to throw his helmet at Will Turner... in a live pit lane... and voila! You have NASCAR...
Some TUDOR organizer is chuckling happy at all this publicity...

On temporary vacation
I've been getting into MotoGP.... read that yesterdays season opener was fantastic especially between Valentino Rossi and the 20 year old defending champion Marquez... but I forgot to set my DVR.

Tucker's brother Blaine, who was a defendant in the same lawsuit related to criminal activity as Scott, committed suicide.

Well considering I only got to see the 3hr broadcast, once condensed and the commercials were taken out the yellows only amounted to about five minutes of air time...not sure what should upset me more...

I may be off base but I don't care for Atherton. I'm sure there was more to the demise of ALMS but he was at the top of that organization and it was driven into the ground. The beginning of the end was when they took it off TV. How does Atherton get a seat at the big table for the combined series? And now the new series has issues. And there's Atherton again.
