Hampton Inn Lake Wales available. Not cheap but cheaper than in town...

There is a new Holiday Inn express in Lake Placid. Ramada south of Lake Placid is clean but older, cheap most of the time, Best Western Bowling Green, a bit of a drive but nice

As a native floridian I know the rooms suck. Imagine what it was like in the 60s. Your best bet is to stay somewhere up state or near Tampa. Bummer. If i ever do that race again, i am going to get a camper.

I need someone to take a room reservation I made, then cancelled, at Hampton Inn and Suites at Lake Wales. About 35-40 minutes from the track, but the closest Hampton Inn.

It's available Monday night, departing Friday, I am sure you could stay.

Talk to Mr. Grillo.

Peter do you know if they will accept me taking over your reservation for only Wednesday and Thursday nights?

I know because of th Conti race and other support races sooner in the week, most area hotels have dropped the minimums they had before.

Please call them. I've cancelled the room but they have my deposit until it is rented.

I would recommend staying in Lake Okeechobee. There's one traffic light on the entire drive up to Sebring and no traffic. Probably a few more miles away - but quicker than staying north of Sebring. Stayed at a Hampton Inn there.

thanks for all your replys.. yes its tough......i dropped my car and trailer off at the track yesterday ( its being stored and looked after there by destiny racing for the winter....great bunch of guys! ): i was at homestead for the weekend chin event at homestead.. quite a nice track!

for the fun of it i stopped in to hotel elan... they have one room left with a single double bed: $4500+ tax for a 7 nite minimum stay!! however balcony view of the hairpin guaranteed!.. ouch!

out on rte 27 i stopped at few really oldish looking motor hotels just north of the track turnoff... i mean these must have looked drab in the 50s... a gentleman,... javendra something..and his twin brother helped me out .. its the travel inn of sebring...(his reservation list was written on the back of a napkin.. i jest not) told me they could "retool" a room for me ...normally used as a smoking room.. he said he would change the bedding and shampoo rug to limit the smell.., but would not have time to scrub walls... . after plopping down 200 a nite i am in like flint... note picture below and yes... if you are wondering, that is an old pool in the front filled with dirt and sprouting cheesy palm trees...... i will try this for at least a nite.. and, if i start itching...might be joining someone in turn 10 or the hauler,,, stay tuned...

wow, i had no idea this racing life was so glamorous......did all you hard core racers start out like this?

if you are more than desperate.. shoot me an email and i will hook you up with my man javendra...

Yep, stayed here once. Slept on top of the sheets. Parents did the same.
