I tried searching the entire internet and here to get a gauge at what the second hand market would be for these seats. But unfortunately I don't think anyone's ever sold a set of these before.

I'm in the process of doing a deal to trade these Recaros + cash for GT2 sport buckets and wanted to get some opinions on what everyone thought these seats were worth.

New they are $3100 with brackets an additional $200. Would 50% of new be fair or am I short changing myself? The seats are relatively new, one made in 2013 and the other at the end of 2011

I'm attaching pics so you can see the condition and weigh in.

Any opinions would be appreciated.

when i built my car recently i found that higher quality, recent vintage, used race seats were never discounted to 50%, maybe to 20-25%. Yours look in great shape and if the GT2's are in similar shape a straight up, equal discount from retail is what i'd be negotiating.

50% off sounds more likely than 75% off. But who knows what a willing buyer and seller will think is fair.

50% off is a big discount. I bought a pair of Recaro SPG xl seats both a year old and paid around 70% of retail and considered it a bargain.

With that recent a build date, presumably excellent condition, rare seats, I would ask 25% off retail with the obvious additional savings of no tax. See what happens. Bummer they are XLs... standard width would sell very quickly.

I've always been of the opinion that a seat loses 15% of it's value each year for five years. Making an out of date seat worth 25% of retail to me.
