This was what I started with, HAD to glass bead and "coat" them...

What's the point of that, just seems to be a sacrificial coating/lubricant in places that are just fine without them.. The top coating for a turbo may make sense tho.

I tend to think that most of it falls into the same category as knife edging cranks, boat tailing cases,and cryogenic rotors.

There are some longevity benefits to coating engine bearings.

Especially the crappy Glyco's.

There are plenty of coatings that make a real difference in power output and longevity of a motor. You just have to know what to use and where.
