Default Recommendations on a multi layer racing suit?

Time to get another suit, looking for a multi layer SFI suit that's lightweight. It gets HOT here in Colorado!

Need something reasonably priced, under $1000...

TIA!

I haven't found that lightweight 3 layer suits and "reasonably priced" are compatible. I'm shopping now and decided just to spend the extra and stay cool given that I'm in Texas. I'm pretty sure I've decided on the new Sparco Superleggera RS-9. It's about $1800.

^ ditto on OMP One

But... if budget constraints, shop around the usual vendors to see what they still have in stock from 1-2 years ago.

Lastly, the major brands/models are often surprisingly different in cut and you could be up or down a size.... Best to try 'em on if you can.

I got a really nice Sparco on a screaming good sale at OG Racing. Check in there every once in a while or get in touch with Mark Francis (Carrera51) as he may have some last year suits or something on sale.

Try these guys out. I just picked up an awesome 2 layer Nomex suit for $450! Brand new. They also make custom suits with embroidered front and back starting at $695.00.
Quality is outstanding. They are known for their carting gear, but they also have a full line of auto racing stuff. Check em out.

Was trying to get the same deal but unfortunately they were already sold out in my size.

Smoking deal if you are a size 46. I have one of these and its a great suit. A bit shiny though.

If you want light weight, check out the Sparco Extrema RS-10. Not cheap, but it's 3 layer protection in one layer. I saw one at PRI and it was amazingly light. There is nothing like it that I have seen.

Thanks guys. I"m 6' 200lbs, so I'm definitely not going to fit in a size 46.

I'll start trolling the sites and see what I can find...

At this rate we could almost get a group buy going!
