Or if you see someone grabbing their A-pillar take evasive action.

How much support do you have in the paddock?

If a lot, staging a Run on Day 1 where he is the only car that grids/goes out (all others fail to grid) might show the organizers that something is up and just might cause the drover a bit of introspection while he's 'hero lapping alone one handed'....

Now if you could also get the flaggers to turn their backs to the track....

If you feel you are helping one person out its worth it.

Pretty compelling evidence, if you'd ask me.

Ok, I finally saw the infamous video and I understand now. It's obvious that you need to keep the left hand free from driving duties so you can give that quick point-by. Now it was a short clip, but it seemed to me that most (all) of the passes were from the rear. That could just be editing to eliminate the endless steam of passes going forward.

I will have to say these are unique driving techniques that I have not advanced to. I am going to keep working. I 've gotten some good help on data analysis from ProCoach and some in-car and data analysis from VR, but they obviously know I am not ready for these advanced techniques.

Dude, Get your hands on the wheel!

Video was taken on last afternoon session of last day on-track. It's pretty representative of his behavior all weekend long, trust me. What's even more impressive than the video itself is the guy's attitude towards all this. He's even boastful of his "performance". Truly zero insight or remorse. Dangerous.

Well if he is holding the a-pillar when he crashes maybe the pillar airbag will go off and he'll punch himself in the face…could be your only hope at this stage.

If he still has a hand?

Searching "bad GT2 driver COTA" yields some interesting results... This guy's commentary is funny.
AUSTIN, Texas - In November 2012 the new Circuit of the Americas held its first Formula 1 race - the US Grand Prix in Austin, Texas. Now it looks like the track is being used to keep inexperienced boys and their toys out of harm's way.

In as video uploaded to YouTube, a Porsche GT2 owner is let loose on the racetrack, displaying the kind of driving instructors would cringe over.

WHY GRAB THE A-PILLAR?

The driver can be seen leaning an elbow on the window, switching up his hand positions, grabbing the A-pillar (for comfort?) and generally making an *** of himself.

We realise the driver is clearly an amateur and instead of seething at his poor driving skills we've decided to pick apart his "skills" and highlight do's and don't of track racing.
