it's where the ABS system somehow thinks it's in a slick/icey condition and prohibits braking to the point of non-effect. There have been several crashes in street GT3/RS' due to this. But if the Edwards car was a cup vs. street GT3 converted to track car, then it should not have had ABS... thus it would have been impossible to experience "ice mode". I am sure others here may know more specifics.

Most 996 Cups have a motorsports-derived ABS system, not a street ABS. AFAIK, the motorsports ABS (which is pretty fantastic) is not susceptible to ice mode. But I could be wrong...
