Really terrible news... Sean was very good and classy. I am still in shock.
Let's not forget the driver, Will Holzheimer, either. Details are pretty sketchy, but it sounds like his injuries are very serious.
Whatever one's view on the advisability of coaching other drivers, and whether this was a driver error or mechanical fault, it remains just so sad that one great driver is dead, and another young man who obviously had aspirations to develop is apparently fighting for his life.

I arrived home on Tuesday after attending a wake for a PureGT forum friend (Angus Dawe) - turned to Facebook and discovered that Sean Edwards aged 26 has been killed in a racing tuition crash in Australia.
I last met him last Wednesday at the Spa track where he was giving tuition in a GT3.
A true gentleman with terrific racing skills.
He was 18 points off winning the Porsche Supercup championship and in the last couple of years had won the 24h of Dubai twice and this year won the 24h Nurburgring.
I am stunned shocked and numb.

Yes, it went straight in.

no question a horrific crash. with that said, sometimes photos are even worse because of damage from the extraction procedures. Very sad about Sean, but lets hope this other young lad pulls through and makes a full recovery.

Burning Brakes
Any update on why the car did not slow down?
There is an article where Sean's mother believes it was most likely a stuck throttle, as witnesses saw brakes lights. But the lights are only a switch at the pedal; it doesn't mean the brakes were still mechanically working.
