Default Harry's Lap Timer - Android Equivelent?

Guys,

I am wondering if anyone knows of an Android Equivelent to te program Harry's Lap Timer? That is am absolutely phenomenal piece of equipment, however it is unfortunately only for IOS and I hate the IPhone devices. I realize I could buy an IToucn or something just for t car, however I am trying to avoid that if possible.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Android has a couple. And as much as I love google OS, their offerings suck in comparison. They're hard to use and the quality of the app isn't nearly as good. There's two available. I have them both.

One is no longer supported and the other is a bitch to use. Damn it, I'll have to grab my phone here in a minute as my mind is slipping with old age.

Trackmaster, RaceChrono, and Ragetank are the ones that I know of. I warn people, I've seen two phones picked up off the track completely smashed from being in the car. Make sure you back up your phone before using it as a lap timer.

Racechrono only does lap times, no video. Works pretty well though. I keep it in my pocket when I'm in a student car or rental race car since video isn't relevent.

Trackmaster makes my head hurt.... I have it but can't seem to figure it out. I have a racekeeper in my track car so I don't put a lot of effort into these apps.

AlapHD works well if you can get it going. However, it's not supported anymore. I've run into issues where it refuses to recognize my SD card so I'm forced to try and fit video on to internal memory.

They pretty much all suck compared to Harry's.

Agreed on mount. Ram suction cups work really well though.

I'm not willing to risk my phone, so the $400 for an AiM Solo is worth it to me. It's much more than the app, but a SC giving you the data loaded video and the separate data file for RS2 is pretty amazing.

Agreed. Aim in a nice unit.

Ultimately I prefer my dedicated RK system with display, video, and data. Not practical to move from car to car though.

Trackmaster is very good. The phone's internal GPS does tend to let it down, so I use an external 10Hz bluetooth GPS.

I use trackmaster and a replay xd with RaceRender for compiling. Not for the plug-and-play crowd. Requires data manipulation and syncing manually. But $5 app, $35 compiler, $300 camera. So for <$400 you get a pretty decent data logger.

Man, I REALLY like the Replay 1080 HD! Just got my initial order of two dozen in and they're terrific!

For those that are successfully using HLT, curious what you use to secure your iPhone. Would be interested to see what works well that's:

1. Robust
2. Mounts to a roll bar
3. Dampens vibration
4. Is adjustable

Does such a product exist? Looking for a good mount to get started and dip a toe in the water...

Cheers

Matt
