Damn. I have never worn rotors out on a race car. Always chucked them due to hairline cracking. Maybe I am using the wrong rotors ?

Same here. My StopTech rotors have a minimum of 30mm, which usually occurs concurrent with the hairline cracks reaching the outer edge, which is the Danger Will Robinson sign to dump them anyway.

Oh, what I wouldn't give to wear out a set of rotors.

The minimum thickness is stamped on the edge of the rotors (usually). But, like everyone else has said, usually rotors on a track car are thrown out because the hair-line cracks start getting larger.

Same here. In the past I used to monitor against minimum thickness, but gave it up in favor of monitoring the cracks. When they start joining up or get deep enough to catch a fingernail I pitch 'em. This always happens before they even get close to minimum thickness.
