Now you are adding up incidentals... I amortize mine spread out over the year, then forget about it.

but then also what if your first lap in your new car, you accidentally grab first instead of fourth and pop the motor and trans....$50k gone. no insurance covers that, or most insurances don't cover that.
Or like me you spend a ton on race insurance, then the engine goes and you can't race it so you bought insurance for nothing.

The only useful thing I can add to this thread is that driving one of those is a lot more rewarding than driving any GT3 street car on track. Once you go there, there is no way back

Gary R,
I agree that I am adding incidentals. Like someone said, if you have to ask how much something costs, you can't afford it. But based on everything I learned so far about running a cup car it seems both affordable and worth very penny ...I mean dollar and every 10k of it!!

I think it would be more rewarding to pass Cups in a GT3 stock class car - or an air cooled antique....

Very difficult with a good cup driver.

I don't care who I pass or who passes me. If it were for me I would drive all by myself on a track

Yep, and we don't need no stinkin' turbos.

I only have 306hp to the wheels.

And no, I can't get around a well driven one (6Cup) but can run with the average guys.

(If I can't, I just go home....)

I have about 310 HP at the crank.....

I can hang with a well driven 996 Cup Car at a technical track like Sears Point. Thunderhill is a more of a challenge....
