I have an Odyssey. I disconnect it when not in use. If you discharge it too much you will need to use another battery as a buffer between it and the charger.

My track car has an Odyssey PC680. It sits for a month or more at times between races without issue (master power switch off = disconnected). I use a CTEK charger when it needs charging. They last about a year before starting to die. You can keep an Odyssey on a trickle charge without an issue (I do that over the winter).

I have noticed this, too. No matter how nice I am to these wee batteries, they die quickly...

I've had the same battery for 3 years now. It has been totally depleted before. I do not use a trickle charger but just recharge when I have to. These batteries have a memory and when you trickle charge them they build immunity for lack of a better expression.

The PC680 is a valve regulated lead acid (VRLA) AGM battery. It does not "have a memory". Odyssey says this battery can be maintained on an appropriate trickle charger.....

I think I am going to try one of these next. Going to put it in the TTD Civic Si.

I'm on year three, have totally discharged once or twice (forgetting to turn off master) did a jump start and let it charge at the track no problems.

I've never put it on a charger.

My PC680 never fails to let me down. If I don't pull the kill switch each night, and the temperature is much below 60degf, my 996 won't start. I'm pretty well done with it and shopping for a replacement right now. This is the third one I've had and they all have been the same.

BatteriesPlus snowmobile battery is an exact clone of the Braille, costs 1/3 as much, and lasts twice as long. That's what I use in my M3.

Take your Braille into BatteriesPlus, tell them "I want this" and you get a much better choice

I have been very please so far with the Deka ETX30L:

At about 22 lb it is not the lightest possible, but is very reliable.
