Alright, thank you Larry, see you March of 2014!

Alonso for the win. I don't think the tires will last as long as they did last week, especially with the heat and humidity of Malaysia. Also, this track is a more traditional F1 circuit and not a public park/street course.

Finally, if McLaren languishes again, look for Ron Dennis to be more prominent in the garage, perhaps as early as the 3rd race in China.....

The Lotus will implode in the high heat. Ditto for at least one of the Mercs. McLaren are once again in the weeds. Vettel wins his first of the season.
2 and 3 will be a decent fight between Webber who is pretty fit, and the whinger.

Nothing makes me happier than to see Vettel whinging about the tyre degradation, I really have to applaud the FIA and Pirelli for introducing some suspense, otherwise it would be a boring season with he of the single index finger pulled from Marko's *** running away with every race.

Go Kimi !!!

I hope the Merc's qualify well and run consistently in the race.

Ferrari looks promising.

I'd like to see a Sauber get into the points.

Williams have not cured their ills despite Pastor's puffing.

McLaren Electronic Systems (MES) has apologised to Mark Webber and Red Bull following the season-opener in Melbourne, with the company's standard ECU, used by all 22 drivers, developing an issue in the Australian's RB9 prior to the race start.

Webber, who fell down the order from second to seventh in the space of two corners, lost telemetry data on his formation lap, leading to a full system reset. Although MES had initially claimed that the device was working normally, a subsequent post-race investigation at its base uncovered an issue and has thus prompted the apology.

"The electronic units themselves ran without incident in Melbourne, but there was a software-related issue that meant that Mark Webber's Red Bull Racing car's garage data system had to be re-started during the formation lap," read an MES statement. "That disrupted his preparations for the start of the race, for which Mark and the team has our apology. We are working together with them to prevent any recurrence."

The ECU currently in use was introduced ahead of the 2013 season, being tested for the first time during the pre-season gatherings at Jerez and the Circuit de Catalunya. It will remain in place for the transition to 1.6-litre V6 turbocharged engines in 2014.

Pat Fry out at Mercedes at the end of this month... ie this weekends race. Niki Lauda's (Now a board member at MB) scorched earth policy continues.

from Crazy4F1's page.

CLASSIC RAIKKONEN!!
Q: It is known that you and Sebastian Vettel have some kind of friendship. When asked how he sees that friendship, his reply was that he respects your honesty and down-to-earth attitude. How could that change, now that you are really racing wheel-to-wheel for victories for the first time?

KR: Seb is for me an honest guy - and, yes, we get along very well. What happens on the track
and life outside the cockpit are two completely
different pairs of shoes. We are both
professionals who can separate one from the
other. I always wonder what people are
expecting us to do? That we are running with a knife through the paddock seeking revenge after
a race incident, or what?

What makes you think that? Are you talking mechanical failures or lack of performance? I hate to bring up history but Kimi's win last year was in Abu Dhabi where, correct me if I am wrong, it was HOT.

This. Lotus has a temporary edge. It's seems.
Plus I just really like KR as a driver and as a person- at least what we know of him.

If there is a car with a potential issue with overheating, it is the new Sauber with the much smaller sidepods. This will be a good test for that design.
