Just a meek opinion here, but I'll keep the "old fashioned" stuff in my cars.

PDK is also an automatic but without a torque converter.

A manual transmission does NOT have an electronic interface because it is the driver that is fully in control of the clutch and shift operation. Driver and transmission are directly connected which is the inescapable requirement of a manual transmission. You can make a mistake in a manual. PDK doesn't ever make a mistake. Thus it is impossible to be a manual.

PDK is simply a very refined automatic that makes the driver believe he is directly connected. And the driver already knows he's not in control of execution. He's merely making suggestions to the automatic transmission, which it will carry out when it feels its best to do so. Its what I call "virtual experience manual". An automatic cleverly disguised as a manual (via cleverly located paddles that heighten the realism). It's still an automatic Porsche.

PDK is like watching someone else make love to your woman while you give him directions.

but you forgot the best part: And the other guy is pleasing your woman better than you ever did.

And if you weren't there at all (full auto mode), she'd still get off the line faster than you ever could manage.

PDK: not manual. Not hybrid manual. Not anything manual.

I'm not arguing for a PDK GT3, but for those whining about the loss of driver skill, do you drive around with your ABS disconnected?

YES - and not even power assisted brakes / no ABS , no PASM or PMS or PDK or whatever it is. Hell, I even have wind up windows.

Hey you - get off my lawn

Not odd, just unfortunate. Porsche and Ferrari drivers are very different. Most Porsche owners like to DRIVE their cars, most Ferrari owners like to SHOW thier cars.

How many 100k mile Ferraris are there out there? 50k? Heck, even 20k??

My personal opinion: with a manual, you DRIVE the car, with a PDK/automatic, you RIDE in the car.

That is a very good way to put it. I have both a Ferrari 6 speed manual and two Porsche's and I drive all three on the street and the track but I am not the average Ferrari owner that is for sure. My Ferrari has 30,000 miles on it and has seen plenty of track and long road trips.

You are correct, you are NOT the average Ferrari owner
Kudos to you for having them be manual and driving them all!!
