The single biggest differences would be the following:
1.) motor swap with extensive intake re-design
2.) front end clip to add dual master cylinders and fuel cell
3.) removal of the power assist brakes
4.) carbon fiber everything
5.) air jacks
6.) beefier roll cage (not much though since Interseries already tie to the shock towers)
7.) front caliper upgrade
Not as much as you would think but it is a lot of labor.

Why are you removing the power assist brakes?
Thanks

Great debut by the Cayman cars in GX. The rest of the season will be interesting to watch unfold when they have other GX cars to run against.
Small tidbit, not all of the new 9A1 engines are DFI. DFI is newer type of injection used on some of the motors. DFI and the old FI is interchangeable between motors if you are so inclined
Also the big difference between the M96/M97 to the new 9A1 engines is the old ones had 3 oil pumps (2 in the heads) and the new engine has 5 oil pumps. Porsche went back to it's roots with the 9A1. Also, no IMS, fully chain driven, (think old air cooled engine reliability but water cooled).
If you doubt that, wait until you see the new GT3 based on a 9A1 engine.

Yeah, I thought the same thing. It helps to be friends with smart people who are working on 9A1 engines and building several Cayman race cars. There are gonna be a lot of new Cayman cars this year
