Default Hankook V Hoosiers: Tested Both Same day!

[B] I Have ran both sets of tires on the same track (Sebring) on the same day. The Hankooks were as sticky as the Hoosiers and last about 3-times longer. Last set of my $1400 Hoosiers went out of round and cost me an entire run session. This tread separation on the Hoosiers is becoming a serious issue and there were 9 (NINE) other cars at the Sebring event experiencing the same problem. The Hoosiers looked like they had a giant pineapple sized growth through the middle of the tread and sidewall. I'll take my .13 second slower lap for the $ 500 cost savings and waive to the competitors pitting to change out their ****ty defective Hoosiers. BTW I won my class (GTS-3) (R5) at Winterfest and Homestead (NASA) on Hankooks C51

Yup, I love the Z214 C51's. Have been a big fan, as I have mentioned here for years.

These will be my first tire purchase for the new Spring.

I have plenty of data to compare them against R6s, R1s and the new R1-S. I will also be putting the car on R80 slicks - should be a fun first weekend T/T.

Great feedback on the Hankooks, thanks. Hoosier? Well........let's hope if it's a real problem they get on top of it.

Agreed!

Now just need Tire Rack to give some love to the BMWCCA racers that have to put the tire rack banner on the windshield.... Yet still no discounts?!

Were you able to spend some time properly monitoring the tires with tire temp? You may find some alignment settings may favor one tire brand over another, so it is important when you are testing back-to-back that you have the data to determine if you have optimal alignment for each tire before you can call one "better" than another.

Love the kooks, but there has always been a problem with supply. Stock up when they are available, because at times they cannot be found.

Rokket, I am assuming you were comparing R-6's and not slicks??

I've written of R6 a long time ago, just crappy quality and they fall off quick.

What sizes did you run?
