At the VIR Club, if there's no one in the seat (passengers side), the window can be all the way up or all the way down in the novice group. If there is a body in the seat, windows down.
I was at a historic car race in May of 1988 where a friend of mine's wrist was caught between the top of the door and the ground as the car rolled over. It was an ugly break. Lots of surgery for him.
Later that year, SVRA began requiring arm restraints in open cars, then later began requiring either window net or an arm restraint on the arm closest to the open window in closed cars. No incidents since then...

But, But that was one of my favorite's (minus the flags) before I knew what the story was with it then I was like (look at pic)
still in my top 20 (minus the flags) but now I think my favorite is a Ferrari Dino 246 GTS
I still like my Mustang with the windows up but the top down so someone can still do that (KaiB's post)

I can usually do two DE days between fillups.
