open windows are truly annoying and a safety hazard

for some reason the US loves them.....
R+C

PS Is it an unalienable right? is it constitutional, do you think?

Windows stay down so that you can make an emergency exit from the car in case you can't get the door open. I know two people who have had to exit via the window in the last year. Both were in street cars. Both were at a DE. Both would be crispy critters had the windows been up.

Yes, safety, especially for DE. I questioned it until a guy in a 993 2 cars in front of me spun at Sears Point, and ended up on his drivers door. By the time I had come to a complete stop, he had popped up and out of the open passenger window. With the weight of the passenger door and only electric window switches it would've been very hard for him to exit the car otherwise.

I'll bite. Why are open windows a safety hazard?

You better have more than a comment about arms getting outside the window in a crash.....

You might be ejected out the window in an accident if you've forgotten to buckle up ...
