Talk about leaving the barn door open. Glock needs to get some lessons from Petrov on how to keep someone behind them.
I DVR'd that show.
I still say that Timo has a McLaren SLR hidden away somewhere.
Perhaps he had no idea what was at stake; I am sure Lewis did and that might explain the pass.
Then again ...

I see a red Schumacher helmet in the cockpit; not a "cry baby blue" helmet, so the avatar is quite acceptable.

Since 1980, it looks like it is Alan Prost . Not only did Prost win in 1985, 1986, 1989 and 1993. But the Frenchman came in 2nd in 1983, 1984, 1988 and 1990.

BTW in 1988 Prost scored 105 total points to Aryton Senna's 94 points. But since they ran a dumb rule back in the day where you only counted 11 of your best results in the 16 race season, Prost had to drop 18 points (equivalent of 2 wins) to Senna only having to drop 4 points. So Senna was crowned champ with 8 race wins and 90 points to Prost's 7 wins and 87 points. I actually liked Senna a tad more than Prost back in those days (I cheered for Mansell). But you got to say the Frenchman got royally shafted in 1988.

PS: a number of drivers including Schumacher finished 2nd 3 times.

Damn, Alonso can't even be champion of 2nd place WDC.

Regarding Prost (not one of my favorite F1 drivers, far too much emphasis on F1 politics ... Wait, he reminds me of someone....oh, never mind), he likely benefitted due to Jean-Marie Balestre being FIA President more than most drivers during that time...

Again, JMB was not one of the best FIA Presidents, probably even a bit worse than Mad Max

There are probably enough Alonso apologists worldwide to warrant the UN granting them Nation status...

Excellent idea.
Why not send a PM to The Admin

I must remain neutral & unbiased if I am to have any chance of being named Moderator For Life for the new Alonso sub forum, which will need an appropriate name.

Not to worry...the bar has been set fairly high to get banned from RL ...you hav pe to really work at it, as many have tried and succeeded.

IIRC, there was a proposal to the Admin and the other Mods to set up a sub forum for F1 "discussions", which are similar to the "discussions" in the P&C sub forum.

Here is a photo of the ruling, by an independent consultant, an expert in these matters, hired by IB...

Dunno, but in the Speed wrap-up the quoted the rather cringeworthy stat that ALO has now lost the WDC in the final race of the season more times (3) than he has won the championship.

In Luca's eyes, that is still deserving of a trophy....yes, Luca, love is in fact blind

The fact that Prost could put up those numbers against Senna, the best driver of the modern era, in equal machinery speaks volumes of Prost's speed and racecraft. Afterall Senna had nearly equalled Prost's career pole record BEFORE stepping into the best car on the grid. And those who say that Senna was just a McLaren rookie that year failed to grasp that as far as experience and learning, four Senna seasons of F1 is the equivalent of 10 years for any other driver.
I'd say 2nd place to Senna in the same car is equal to two Vettel championships as far as accomplishment. No disrespect to Webber but having Senna in the other car is a whole other level of hurdle.
