Several HCP guys went down to look it over, haven't gotten any feedback yet but I'm hopeful as it's close to where I live

Here is a video from a bike. A lot of trees close to the track.

Pit out looks a little suspect. The layout appears to be the the kind of track which some might refer to as being a "motorcycle track." I hope they can develop this into a safe course which we can run later next year, or in 2014.
I wish them good luck - It's really close to home!

They just paved it a month ago, so the only activity there has been a couple demo laps.

It was originally designed as a motorcycle track, but it sounds like it will be open for any groups who want to run there.

The word I've heard is that it's nowhere up to spec on safety (no guard rails, no flag stations, trees close to track, and many more), but that they're looking into adding all the requisite stuff through the next year or two.

Despite all this, they're almost fully booked for 2013 already.

This is not the road track that's being built by the successful dirt track promoter near Syracuse, is it?

Nope, different builder/owner and a few hours apart from each other. This track is about halfway between Syracuse and NYC

This is really close to my weekend place (which is where I keep my 911 most of the time). It would be awesome if it opens up for club use!!
