CJ, people don't know how expensive it is to run Conti ST. The tire bill for a race weekend for a 4 car team I ran 6 years with exceeds $15K.

a 4 car team...yeesh. we have two cars. I'd really like to run some Yoko Cup Gt3 cars but I don't know anyone who would want to drive porsche cup cars

I would! I have about 7 hours of track time in a stock Civic. But I would be the most willing driver ever!

Heck, I'm looking for a career change. And at 51 you wouldn't have to worry about me being immature. Just have to worry about a heart attack in the seat!

Let me rephrase - plenty want to drive porsche cup cars, not many can afford to rent a seat in one for a full season of ALMS/Patron/etc....

Default a parting of ways? Uh, yeah.

Both the FL and Porsche announcements sounded icy, chilly, like they were crafted by lawyers. Plus both were conspicuous in their avoidance of any discussions of future plans together.

What a shame. A sad end to a successful partnership.

PS: Now, what do I do with all those FL Porsche tee-shirts?

Mark, three sets of slicks for one car in Pirelli US Cup West or Parton GT3 is over $7,500 for a weekend.

If my wife ever found out she would turn into Elmelda Marcos and I would have to expand the master closet!!

Any chance that the 960 has been under development and that is what Porsche is bringing out next year? Probably just wishful thinking and PL says he's not familiar with the 960 but if it is anything like the speculation Porsche would be crazy not to race it.

Actually when you go back and read all the bulletins it may mean nothing more than the Lizards are now a private team without direct factory support like all the other Pcar teams, and that they will still run the 997 RSR with typical factory support. That scenario would mean that they would run all the same hardware and even the same drivers if they are not called off for other factory duties. I see this as a logical outcome of the ALMS/GA merger, and as a mfgr where do you put your efforts? Seems like the GTC develops plenty of marque coverage in the states, the RSR is on a dead end and at the very least a lame duck for 13 development.

Dave

Your secrets are safe with me........... it was good to see you Sunday.

CJ, you are correct a full IMSA Challenge with a top team would be about $350 plus "damage".
