Racing at Motegi Circuit Japan
Wanted to share with the group an exciting opportunity that I am preparing for.
Some may know that I had Nakai-san the owner/builder of RWB 911's in Japan come over and build one for me. My 933 is the 5th RWB in the United States. Many who have seen RWB's have seen that Nakai-san paints the word "idlers" on the side wall of the tires. This is his tribute to their club racing seen in Japan. It would be like painting "PCA Club Racing" or "NASA" on the side wall in the U.S.
That said, idlers is hosting a 12-hour endurance race at Motegi Circuit in Japan. RWB has invited all their owners from around the world, approximately 15 not including cars in Japan, to come and team drive on of their RWB cars built just for this race.
I'm taking my dad, who goes to all my PCA and PBOC races, and splurging for the lay flat seats in first/business class for the 17 hour flight. We fly from Tampa to Tokyo and I can't wait.
I hope this will be a fun event and will update the experience on this thread. Pics, video etc.

WOW! Is all I have to say. That is one gorgeous machine. If you happen to live in Tampa and I ever see you on the road, I'll be sure to honk and give the thumbs up.
EDIT: Forgot to add, have a blast in Japan and be sure to take lots of pics and video.

Bucket list for sure! Lay flat seats over the pacific are the way to go, but if looking to save funds, fly to Hawaii, stay the night and a 8hr flight to Tokyo.
Need to take lots of pics and bring something special from Tampa (local) for your Japanese hosts, but avoid perishable food items (fruit, dairy, etc.) as Japanese customs (island concerns) will not allow such raw product into the country if uncovered. Maybe local sports team t-shirts (medium) :-) Maybe some PCA gear. Car stickers too! A signed Sato Indy Car memorabilia would be a big hit too with your co drivers.
Enjoy, great to share with your dad.

What dates will you be over there?
Be sure to visit the Honda museum, bring plenty of camera capacity (memory and battery)!
Will you be staying at the Twin Ring Hotel next to the track?
