Default '89 Benetton F1 car for sale at local dealer

Not something you see everyday....

http://www.carsauto.com/1989-benetton-f1-c-713.htm?

No affiliation to me...just a well-known local dealer who often has interesting used p-cars so I check their website.

Perhaps someone here has a quarter Mil to spare?

awesome, but I think the price is $100k optimistic for a car with no real provenance (not a race winner, WCC/WDC car, etc). interesting story about the sister car winning, but still.

I thought this car had race history, no?

"This car has been driven to points paying finishes by Nannini; 6th in Brazil and 3rd in San Marino and the British GP with it's bst finish a 2nd at Australia. It was also driven by Johnny Herbert achieving 4th in Brazil and 5th at US Grand Prix in Phoenix."

Huh. Seems *way* less expensive than I would have guessed...and it's an early enough car you can run it without a team of mechanics carrying laptops just to fire it up.

Pretty good spares package. More than $100K to make it.

Priced @ 249K. How about that 993 Turbo FS in Arctic Silver?

I noticed that too. You would almost think that **** would be in a 1950s racer. It looks like it's made of wood.

I know nothing about what these cars of worth but I would have figured way more than 249k. Maybe I'm that guy who is 'one born every minute.'
