There are some good places to pass in the grass (honeycomb cement through which the grass grows). That was not one of them. The camera car really missed the entry to the small karussel--ouch!

And neither the blue nor the white car came unglued after the pass, either. They just kept at it as though it was a perfectly reasonable racing surface pass... which I'm sure someone will say it was...

I had the privilege to race in the Porsche Carrera World Cup last year. Jaap van Lagen in this video was my Team mate with Land Motorsports and a very helpful coach. This video brings back a lot of exhilirarting memories of the Nordschleife! I cannot wait to get back there again.

Curious why those cars in front kept seeming to pull away but 'we'd' catch them under brakes or traffic? Assuming he was also in a Cup car? 996 vs 997 ?

Accordian effect. Constant time gap is different distance gap at different speeds.

I was there! Ok maybe not for that part of the race but I was at the ADAC 24h. Always a great race, personally my favorite. Thanks for sharing!
