Default Jefferson 500, Summit Point

A bunch of OLD P-cars at Summit this weekend! A celebration of air-cooled goodness! Hope folks can make it out.

I'll be under the SascoSports tent if anyone would like to purchase an AiM Solo/Solo DL/SmartyCam GP or Traqmate HD Pro setup. I have a demo Race-Keeper and Video VBOX Lite I can show folks, as well.

The weather is going to be terrific! Come on out and root for your favorites in the Eifel Cup.

Todd, did you do a little drifting at Road Atlanta last weekend?

yes, I was at RA last fri/sat, but not drifting. was driving my Honda Civic in the Global Time Attack (sessions were being alternated between the pro drifting and us. I was running in 'Limited FWD' category). It was my first time ever at RA, and I must say that that is a serious 'big boy' track (wow wow wow is it FAST and ballsy and elevation changes are crazy and blind)! My eyeballs were popping out of my head in T1, and in T12 (I really wish that I had had an opportunity to come to RA earlier and practice a little bit). had some issues with my Civic (serious ones!) but still managed to put down a 1:37.4 while still learning the track. I'm positive that a 1:35 was easily attainable with one or two more sessions (but, alas, the engine said 'uncle'). finished in third place (winner was a Nissan Sentra with a Maxima motor swap in it; he ran a 1:36.0).

that was today's Group 1 Wyer Cup race from Summit Point; (old school camera is starting to give up, so please forgive the jumpy audio). I got ROLLED on the start (had qualified 3rd with a 1:25.5), but the top 10 cars were really strong and wow did I get shuffled back! awesome race from then on, wire to wire battling with a pair of fast P cars (914-6 and 911) and another Lotus or two. (there were swarms of 914s; I think I counted like 15 in the field!).

my hot-street motored Lotus Super Seven was outclassed today, but wow was it a good race!!!!

enjoy!

PS the winner was another Lotus Super Seven, and he turned a BLISTERING 1:21.2 lap, followed by an extremely fast 914-6 with a 1:22. unbelievably fast times for that group!!!

Hey Todd, tried to come by in the paddock but couldn't find you. Were you hiding ? Great close racing by all groups.

Peter you looked great out there. That Yellow Lola that finished behind you is gorgeous.

Didn't see any of youse guys there ... but had fun anyhow!

Todd: lots of 914s out there, watched you run a couple of times. I ran with a few 914s in the all-comers race on Sunday but mostly battled British small bore types in the sprints, etc... Also had a good battle with a 1968 Triumph GT6 on Sunday.

Some pics HERE.

Cheers.

I couldn't BELIEVE how hard some of those 914-6s pulled away from me between T2 and T3, and T10 and T1.... amazingly fast cars!

the Jefferson 500 really is a very cool weekend!

Todd, I always learn so much from watching your races. Hopefully one day I'll get to be as fast as you are. One question though, you kept reeling those faster cars only to have them pull on you when the track straightened out. How do you keep the frustration from causing you to make a mistake?
