Default How Can I Insure My Car During Non-Sponsored or Approved Track Driving?

Has anyone insured their car for non-event track driving? I have purchased policies for HDPE-Approved, and other approved events like PCA DEs, but what about when you are on a closed track, NOT during an organized event? An example would be a "County Club Type" track membership, where you can track your car during member-only days. I am looking for a policy that would cover a season or year of such driving.

I know that Lockton covers the "private" Hallett track days. These are sponsored by the track itself (called HPT-High Performance Touring) and held one weekend a month.

I wonder if your track of choice couldn't contact Lockton, go through whatever hoops the Co. deems necessary and get entered onto the list.

Thank you. I actually contacted Lockton with this question before posting. Maybe I can go this route.

I've used "On Track Insurance". Their rates were the best i found. Easy to work with.

Does anyone even do "whole season" anymore (meaning 10-20 events)? All I see now is "per event", where the 2-3 day events are most cost effective.

Me, too. I once signed up for a track day that was not in their "system". Called them up and they added it right away and went on my way. Very easy to deal with and cheaper than Lockton. I have not made a claim with them--yet.

I believe that Lockton offers 6, 9, and 12 event packages. I had a "9 Pack" last year.

On Track is the way to go for your track insurance. They are competitive Porsche racers themselves, so they know what you need. Dependable and reliable.

The plans most of you are describing all cover a number (3,6,9, etc.) of APPROVED or ORGANIZED events, like PCA DEs, 100 Speed and 10/10ths events, etc. I am talking about coverage while driving on a track when there is no event--like the tracks you can join like a Country Club, where one pays yearly dues and then can take his car out and may be be the only car on the track. Because of yearly dues, the club still has EMTs, safety workers, etc. I have e-mails out to Mt. Hawley and On Track Insurance companies with this question, but haven't heard anything yet.
