Default Rolex 24 - Roar Photos

A few shots from the Roar as a lead in to the big one starting this week.

I'l be there working the event. Most of the drivers and teams have their photography needs nailed down. But for any of you slackers my dance card still has a couple of openings

Good luck to everyone involved and hope to see you there!

Very nice photos!! However, in photo #2, I was surprised to see the shield on James Sofronas helmet all messed up. I am assuming they are scratches because I don't think he is driving an open cockpit car that would cause him to collect tire rubber marks. Therefore, I wonder why he is spending any time at all driving around with a messed up shield? I know when I am racing, I want as clear of a field of vision as I can get.

Thanks Jeff. James is on this forum so perhaps he will see this and answer your question. But, I'm thinking he's pretty busy about now!

Blake, very cool shot......thanks for sharing.

Jeff, that was a new visor last year but it got banged up when I was driving in an enduro and had multiple driver stints and it got hit on the window net mount every time I got in the car......not happy about it but with that helmet I don't run the visor down but in ALMS, where they mandated a new spec helmet, I do run with the visor down and a helmet blower system because we run closed windows.

James, thanks for the background info. In a way, your visor has some "battle scars" so that is cool. Your helmet looks REALLY nice which I think translates into being REALLY expensive . . . so you don't want to be replacing visors all the time . . .

Hope you and your team have a great race and WIN!!! I know you guys work extremely hard at this sport. I am pulling for you and look forward to watching the race although I wish I could be there in person. And, I really appreciate it that you have been taking a bit of time here and there to share your experiences on Rennlist. Those of us on this list appreciate it very much!!

Blake, hope some of the teams pick you up as their photographer. Just the few shots you have shared with us really are awesome.

Thanks all for the positive comments about the photography. Jeff, fortunately I have work at the 24. But there's still room for more

Sweet pics Blake! Thanks for sharing.

We chatted a while ago before I went to Le Mans. That was a fun trip. Thanks for the tips back then. Taking pics was a fun way to experience that event.
